19 but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer
This verse is a testimony of answered prayer. The psalmist has just acknowledged that cherishing sin in one’s heart hinders our relationship with God (verse 18), but now he proclaims with confidence that God has listened—because the path between them is clear. The second half of the psalm is deeply personal, moving from worship on a national level to personal praise for God’s faithfulness.
