Context
This verse was written by David when he was fleeing from his son Absalom, who had staged a rebellion against him (see 2 Samuel 15–17). Surrounded by enemies and betrayal, David turns his fear into faith, confidently declaring that the Lord is his protector, his honor, and the one who gives him hope even in humiliation and danger.
