Micah 7 is a prophetic lament from the prophet Micah over the state of the nation of Israel. The people have turned to sin, leaders have failed, and judgment has come. Maybe today you feel surrounded—by failure, shame, fear, or even mockery from others. Maybe the darkness feels thick, and you’re tempted to believe it’s final. Micah 7:8 tells you otherwise: This isn’t the end. You may have fallen, but you will rise. You may feel surrounded by shadows, but the Lord is your light. He’s not waiting for you to climb out on your own—He comes to you with light, with grace, and with strength to rise again. Don’t let your enemy—or your inner critic—convince you that it’s over. In God’s story, darkness never has the final word.
