7 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
This verse is part of a passage that contrasts the consequences of trusting in man versus trusting in God. Just before this, in verse 5, the Lord pronounces a curse on those who rely on human strength. But in verse 7, the tone shifts: those who trust in God are called “blessed.” The imagery that follows in verse 8 compares such a person to a deeply rooted tree by water, echoing Psalm 1. This tree is unaffected by drought because its roots are in a life-giving source. In the same way, the one who trusts in God is spiritually secure and nourished, regardless of external hardship.
This verse is a personal reminder that trusting in the Lord isn’t just a belief—it’s a way of life. When everything around you feels uncertain or unstable, this verse calls you back to where real security is found: in God. To trust in Him means to lean on Him fully, to make Him your source of strength, peace, and hope.
